CrewLink vs Fieldpoint, compared on how subcontractors get scheduled

Fieldpoint is field service software for growing commercial contractors, with subcontractor management built in. CrewLink is a scheduling product with CrewConnect for sending work to partner companies and 1099s. Here is how they differ and when each fits.

If you are searching for a Fieldpoint alternative, you are probably either evaluating Fieldpoint for commercial service work, or you already run subcontractors and want to see how other tools schedule them. Fieldpoint and CrewLink both handle subcontracted work. They come at it from different directions.

All Fieldpoint details below come from Fieldpoint's own website, checked in October 2026.

What Fieldpoint is

As of October 2026, Fieldpoint's homepage describes "Modern field service software that can be adapted to fit your unique needs," and says that "From break/fix to project management, Fieldpoint tailors to meet the needs of growing commercial contractors." It lists scheduling and dispatch, a mobile app, subcontractor management, service contracts, work orders and payments.

That breadth matters. Fieldpoint is a full field service management system for commercial contractors: contracts, work orders, projects and billing in one place.

Fieldpoint and subcontractors

Fieldpoint's subcontractor management page (as of October 2026) says you can "Schedule and dispatch subcontractors as easily as your in-house technicians. See their availability, assign work, and provide the job details needed to get service completed quickly." It describes custom checklists for subs to follow, and a bidding option: "Create a job, open it to a network of qualified subcontractors who can submit bids." On money, it says subcontractors can enter time, materials and expenses through the mobile app or a portal, "and have a payment voucher created at the same time the invoice for the customer is created."

Fieldpoint and scheduling

Fieldpoint's scheduling and dispatch page (as of October 2026) describes drag-and-drop scheduling, filtering technicians "by skills, certifications, and service area," a map display "with optional mobile app technician tracking," and says to "Reduce travel time between jobs with built-in ETA tracking." It also says you can "Bring your project installation teams and service technicians together on one scheduling board."

Where the real difference sits

Both products let you see a subcontractor's availability and put work on their schedule. The differences are about what the sub sees, what you see, and when travel is checked.

Travel at booking. CrewLink offers only start times a qualified tech can actually make, counting their other jobs, their calendar, time off and the drive at that hour, computed from where the truck will be: the previous job. Fieldpoint's page talks about reducing travel time with ETA tracking and a map view. It does not say, on the pages we checked, whether drive time is checked before a slot is offered. We will not guess. Ask them, and ask us the same question.

What each side can see. In CrewConnect, the sender sees the partner's open times only, at the address in question. Never the partner's other jobs, customers, addresses, drive times, working hours or prices. The partner chooses whether the sender sees capacity only or first names. This is built for subs who are independent companies with their own customers, not crews who only work for you.

Pay terms. In CrewConnect, work is sent with agreed pay terms: a percent of the partner's list price or a flat amount, due a set number of days (0 to 90) after the job is done, and both owners agree to the exact terms. Payouts are a ledger of what each side owes with due dates; the companies settle the money directly. Fieldpoint's approach, per its page, is a payment voucher generated alongside the customer invoice.

Credentials. CrewLink lets the sender require license, insurance, certification or background check, and a person whose credential lapses before the job date isn't offered. Fieldpoint's page describes skills and certification filters and checklists.

Who should pick Fieldpoint

Pick Fieldpoint if you are a commercial contractor who needs service contracts, work orders, projects and billing in one system, and you want your subcontractors managed inside that system like in-house techs, with your checklists and your vouchers. Contract-heavy commercial work needs that depth, and CrewLink doesn't offer it. The best field service management software guide covers other suites in the same category.

Who should look at CrewLink

Look at CrewLink when the work you send out goes to independent companies and 1099s who have their own customers, and the problem is scheduling it without wasted trips or arguments about pay. Typical signs:

  • You call three subs to find one who can make Tuesday, and still send one across town.
  • Partners won't share their whole calendar with you, and they shouldn't have to.
  • Pay terms live in old texts, and every month someone disputes a job.

Subcontractor scheduling explains the mechanism, and the contractor network page explains how companies and contractors connect. For install trades that lean on subs, see solar and roofing subcontractor scheduling. CrewLink is in early access; a walkthrough uses your own territory and service times.

What to take away

  • Fieldpoint is full field service management for commercial contractors, with subcontractors managed inside it, bidding, checklists and payment vouchers.
  • CrewLink is scheduling-first. CrewConnect sends work into a partner's open times only, with pay terms both owners agreed, recorded as a ledger.
  • Ask any vendor when travel is checked and from where. CrewLink checks before a slot is offered, from the previous job.
  • If you need contracts, projects and billing in one system, Fieldpoint is the better fit.

Common questions

Is CrewLink a full Fieldpoint alternative?

No. CrewLink does not do service contracts, project management or quoting, which Fieldpoint lists as of October 2026. It is an alternative for the scheduling and subcontractor side, especially when your partners are independent companies.

Does Fieldpoint support subcontractors?

Yes. Its subcontractor management page, as of October 2026, describes scheduling subs like in-house techs, checklists, a bidding network and payment vouchers created with the customer invoice.

Can my subcontractors see my customers in CrewLink?

The partner sees the job you send them. As the sender, you see only the partner's open times at that address, not their other jobs or customers. You choose whose name the homeowner sees on texts: yours or the partner's.

How much does Fieldpoint cost?

We did not find a public pricing page on Fieldpoint's site in October 2026. Ask Fieldpoint for a quote. CrewLink's plans are published on its pricing page.

See your own day on it

CrewLink offers only the times a crew can actually reach, from where the truck will be. Plug in your trucks, services and city and see how your week would run, then walk through it with your own territory. CrewLink is in early access.
