CrewLink vs Tradify: job management for trades next to a scheduling layer

Tradify is job management software for trades, from quote to invoice, with published per-user pricing. CrewLink is a scheduling product that only offers slots a crew can reach.

Tradify and CrewLink are different kinds of product. Tradify is job management software for trade businesses: quoting, scheduling, timesheets, job tracking and invoicing in one app. CrewLink is a scheduling product and nothing else.

For a small electrical or plumbing business that wants to get off paper and spreadsheets, that difference probably decides the question. If the schedule itself is what keeps breaking, read on.

What Tradify is

As of October 2026, Tradify's homepage describes it as "Job Management Software for Trades." Its features include quoting, estimating, customer inquiries, scheduling, timesheets, subcontractor management, job tracking, invoicing and online payments. It names trades including electrical and AV, plumbing, gas engineering, HVAC and refrigeration, and property maintenance.

Tradify's job scheduling page (as of October 2026) says you can "Schedule jobs with a click, dispatch on the fly, and quickly communicate with customers or crew," and "Keep an eye on all your active jobs & staff locations." It describes timeline, planner and calendar grid views, assigning jobs to staff or subcontractors, digital timesheets, Google Calendar integration to "Find gaps in the Scheduler," and a mobile app for desktop, tablet, iPhone and Android.

Where the real difference sits

Tradify's scheduling page focuses on fast booking, clear calendar views, avoiding double-booking and seeing where staff are. Those are the right things for a small team moving off a whiteboard.

CrewLink is built around one question that a calendar view does not answer on its own: is there enough time between this job and the last one to actually drive there? A gap on a calendar is not the same as a reachable slot. A two-hour gap after a job across town may leave only an hour once the drive is counted.

CrewLink checks feasibility before a slot is offered, with live travel computed from where the truck will actually be at that hour, meaning the previous job on that crew's day, not the shop. If the drive does not fit, the slot is not offered. Drive time sits on the board next to the job instead of being hidden inside the appointment.

Tradify's scheduling page, as of October 2026, does not describe how travel between jobs is handled when booking. That does not mean it has no way to do it; it means we did not find it on the page. Ask Tradify, and ask us the same question.

What CrewLink does and does not do

CrewLink does a short list of things:

  • Builds live travel time into availability, so the only slots offered are ones a crew can reach.
  • Checks feasibility before a slot is offered, with travel computed from the previous job.
  • Schedules crews around the drive, not the calendar.
  • Gives you a dispatch board.
  • Is built for companies running 5 to 50 trucks.

CrewLink does not do quoting, estimating, timesheets, job tracking, invoicing, payments, calendar integrations, accounting integrations, staff location tracking or a mobile app. A contractor network, where independent contractors publish availability and get booked into gaps, is on the roadmap and not live.

Who should pick Tradify

Pick Tradify if you run a trade business and want quoting, scheduling, timesheets, job tracking and invoicing in one app your team can use on the van. Its pricing page lists Lite at $47, Pro at $51 and Plus at $61 USD per user per month, a Custom plan on request, and a 14-day free trial with all features, as of October 2026. For a business where paperwork is the main pain, it covers far more ground than CrewLink does.

Who should look at CrewLink

Look at CrewLink if you run 5 to 50 trucks and the schedule is where the day goes wrong. Typical signs: gaps on the calendar that turn out to be too short once the drive is counted, technicians running late by the third job, and an office that keeps widening arrival windows to cover it. For an electrical or plumbing company spread across a wide service area, those drives add up quickly.

Illustrative example: a calendar gap vs a reachable slot
Job A ends10:00 a.m.
Job C starts12:30 p.m.
Gap on the calendar for a 2-hour job2.5 hours, looks fine
Drive A to B 40 min, B to C 30 minNeeds 3h10, slot not offered

The example is illustrative. The jobs per day calculator shows what lost drive time does to daily visits.

What to take away

See your own day on it

CrewLink builds live travel time into availability, so the only slots it offers are ones a crew can physically reach. Walk through it with your own territory and service times — not a demo account.
