CrewLink vs ServiceTitan: a scheduling layer next to a full trades platform

ServiceTitan runs the whole business. CrewLink does one job, which is making sure every slot it offers is one a crew can reach. Here is how to tell which one you need.

If you are comparing CrewLink with ServiceTitan, you are comparing two different kinds of product. That is worth saying up front, because it changes what a fair comparison looks like.

ServiceTitan is a broad platform for the trades. Scheduling is one part of it. CrewLink is a scheduling product and nothing else. It does not replace ServiceTitan's invoicing, payments, CRM or marketing, and this page will not pretend it does.

What follows is what each product says it does, where they differ on scheduling, and who should pick which.

What ServiceTitan is

As of October 2026, ServiceTitan's homepage describes it as software "for commercial and residential trades." The same page lists product areas including CRM, call booking, dispatch, scheduling, marketing, estimates and proposals, invoicing, payments, accounting, reporting, service agreements, inventory and a field mobile app. It names a long list of trades, from HVAC, plumbing and electrical to roofing, pest control, garage door and irrigation.

On scheduling specifically, ServiceTitan's service scheduling page (as of October 2026) describes a Schedule Assistant that suggests "a date, time, and service technician for a given job that minimizes drive time," along with capacity planning and GPS tracking. Its dispatch page (as of October 2026) describes a dispatch board with route planning and real-time technician tracking.

So ServiceTitan does consider drive time in scheduling. Any honest comparison has to start there.

Where the real difference sits

The question is not whether a product "has drive time." Several platforms do, in some form. The useful question is when travel is checked, and from where. That is the distinction we lay out in route optimization vs feasible scheduling.

CrewLink is built around one rule: a slot is only offered if a crew can physically reach it. Before a time is shown as available, CrewLink checks feasibility with live travel time computed from where the truck will actually be at that hour, meaning the previous job on that crew's day, not the shop. Drive time sits on the board next to the job instead of being hidden inside the appointment block. That is the whole idea behind travel-feasible scheduling.

ServiceTitan's site describes suggestions that minimize drive time and optimization that weighs "geographical proximity and route efficiency." It does not spell out, on the pages we checked, exactly what position travel is computed from or at which step of the booking flow the check runs. We are not going to guess. If that mechanic matters to you, ask ServiceTitan directly, and ask us the same question. The twelve questions in how to evaluate field service scheduling software are written to be asked of every vendor, including us.

What CrewLink does and does not do

CrewLink does a short list of things:

  • Builds live travel time into availability, so the only slots offered are ones a crew can reach.
  • Checks feasibility before a slot is offered, with travel computed from the previous job.
  • Schedules crews around the drive, not the calendar.
  • Gives you a dispatch board.
  • Is built for companies running 5 to 50 trucks.

CrewLink does not do invoicing, payments, quoting, CRM, customer texting, GPS tracking, marketing, accounting or a technician mobile app. If you need those, you need another product for them. A contractor network, where independent contractors publish availability and get booked into gaps, is on the roadmap and not live.

Who should pick ServiceTitan

Pick ServiceTitan if you want one system for calls, booking, dispatch, estimates, invoicing, payments, marketing and reporting, and you value having all of that under one vendor. That consolidation is real value. If your office runs on one platform today and the scheduling inside it is good enough for your board, there is no reason to add a second tool.

ServiceTitan's pricing page lists Starter, Essentials and The Works tiers and asks you to request pricing, as of October 2026, so budget time for that conversation.

Who should look at CrewLink

Look at CrewLink if the problem you are trying to fix is the day itself: mornings that get rebuilt by 9:30, long arrival windows padded to cover drives nobody checked, or crews whose windshield time keeps creeping up. If you can describe your problem as "we keep booking things that cannot be reached," that is the problem CrewLink is built for.

You can measure it first. Run your own numbers through the windshield time cost calculator before you talk to anyone.

Illustrative example: one booking, two checks
Previous job ends1:30 p.m.
Requested slot2:00 p.m.
Calendar check: is the truck free at 2:00?Yes, offered
Feasibility check: 40-minute drive from the 1:30 jobNot offered

The example is illustrative. It shows the gap between an empty block and a reachable job, which is the gap CrewLink is designed to close.

What to take away

  • ServiceTitan is a broad trades platform; scheduling is one part of it. CrewLink is a scheduling product only.
  • ServiceTitan's site describes a Schedule Assistant that minimizes drive time. The open question for any vendor is when that check runs and what position it measures from.
  • CrewLink checks feasibility before a slot is offered, from where the truck will actually be.
  • CrewLink does not do invoicing, payments, CRM, marketing or GPS tracking. If you need those in one place, ServiceTitan is the better fit.

Common questions

Is CrewLink a ServiceTitan alternative?

Only for scheduling. CrewLink is a scheduling layer, not a full field service management replacement. It does not do invoicing, payments, CRM, marketing or accounting, which ServiceTitan lists as product areas on its own site as of October 2026. If you want to replace ServiceTitan as a whole, CrewLink is not that product.

Does ServiceTitan account for drive time when scheduling?

Its service scheduling page, as of October 2026, describes a Schedule Assistant that suggests a date, time and technician that minimizes drive time. For the details of how it computes travel, ask ServiceTitan; we only report what its site says.

What is the main scheduling difference between CrewLink and ServiceTitan?

CrewLink is built entirely around checking feasibility before a slot is offered, with travel computed from the previous job on that crew's day. Ask any vendor, including us, where in the booking flow their travel check runs and what location it starts from. That answer tells you more than a feature list.

Who should choose ServiceTitan over CrewLink?

Companies that want one platform for booking, dispatch, estimates, invoicing, payments, marketing and reporting. If the scheduling inside your current platform already holds up on a busy day, a separate scheduling tool adds little.

Is CrewLink built for large enterprises?

No. CrewLink is built for companies running 5 to 50 trucks.

See your own day on it

CrewLink builds live travel time into availability, so the only slots it offers are ones a crew can physically reach. Walk through it with your own territory and service times — not a demo account.
